Poetry by Annette Irene
Coloured by the magnificence of the Western Canadian landscape, The Wind and The Sky and everything else is a stark exploration of our connection and disconnection to the Earth, ourselves, and each other.

Reader Reviews
“
[Annette's] poems are so
raw, visual, vulnerable
and simply sensational.
I got lost in them this weekend.

“
It is only a month since I received my copy of "The Wind and The Sky and everything else". The book lives on my living room coffee table. It sits beside the books of another favourite author, Mary Oliver, and is becoming to look as comfortably loved as they are. There has been very few days that I haven't picked it up to read and reflect on a poem or passage. I know the page number of many poems, others I have committed to my heart. In its essence these poems honour ourselves, our kin, and our life journey in this sacred world we are so fortunate to live in and become one with.
“
Reading these poems, for me, was like drinking water: nourishing, satisfying, and exactly what I needed.

BIO

Over the past 5 years Annette has grappled with the grief of leaving her rural home, while also discovering a deeper sense of self and community in the urban landscape of Edmonton, AB.
This collection was predominantly written while the she traversed the plains, foothills, and Rocky Mountains of Western Canada. In these spaces she slept in a yellow tent beneath the stars and rediscovered wonder and awe.
